Random thought - 3

Continuing on the topic of creativity...

I've seen creativity at its best in mythology. I believe in just one God - a nameless, formless God. [It's God - what other name do you want?]
Before I go ahead, let me make it totally clear here, I mean no offence to anyone. I am just voicing my thoughts.

I remember once during our history classes back in school, we decided to sit back and have an informal discussion. There, my history teacher told us that there is just one God. But people in ancient times weren't too happy with that concept. They thought, "Huh? One God? He'd be bored for sure. And no name? What crap ! We'll give him a name, and yes, He isn't the only one up there. I bet he has friends and family". And so evolved Shiva, Brahma and Vishnu with their wives and children who, by the way weren't born like normal kids. They were born out of super powers, like a light from Shiva or the turmeric from Parvati's body etc. (I am talking about Hinduism here because I know nothing about other religions).
Each of these Gods were given their set of duties, Brahma was to create the universe, Shiva destroyed it and Vishnu eradicated sins. The kids had jobs too.
So if they had a nice happy adventurous family, what is happening out there now? What is happening in heaven? Did Ganesha get married? Did Krishna have kids? What is Hanuman doing now? And why isn't anyone coming down anymore to eradicate the sins that have manifolded a million times more than what it used to be centuries ago?
Where are all the story tellers? Why has the creativity come to a standstill up there?

Random Thought - 2

I had the pleasure of attending a speech by the film director, Mr. Shekhar Kapur. He was talking to us about creativity. Now, there was one particular thing he said that caught my attention. He said for people who are creative, creativity just "comes to them". For instance, for a musician, the music just "comes to " him. For a poet, the words of his poem just "come" to him. So from where is all this "coming to" happening? From the universe.
I have a little question here.
I am a poet and my poems too just "come" to me. From the universe. So now, who is actually writing these poems? Is it actually me or is it just the universe trying to communicate through me?
In that case how exactly would you define this "universe"??

Her Date

The long wait was finally over
And she knew he'd come to take her away
All her pain was coming to an end
She knew she was going to be free today
The long wait had made her weak and frail
Yet she was determined to look good
She put on her best dress and brushed her hair
And went to meet him in the wood(s)
The hours slipped by at snail's pace
Sunshine turned to twilight
But she knew he'd come stealthily
Like a burglar in the dead of night

She heard a wolf howl in the dark
And knew he was not far away
Time was ticking faster now
She knelt down one last time to pray
She saw a white light approach her
And welcomed him with open arm(s)
He came like the wind and swept her away
And everything around turned quiet and calm
Next day a villager passing by
Dumbstruck he was by what he found
A beautiful woman among the woods
Lay cold and stiff on the ground !!

The Rain

The first rain drop fell
On the hot summer sands
Twas followed by many other
To cool the barren lands.
This ground had not seen
Rains for so long
The pitter patter sounded
Like a long forgotten song
The earth greedily soaked up
Its nectar of life
Soon she was glowing
Like a newly wedded wife
People struck by draught
Ran out to embrace
This  long forgotten dream
Smiling on their face
People sang and danced
People laughed and clapped
So melodious felt the thunder
As across the skies it slapped
It rained for a day
It rained for two
And it rained for days
Without a cue
Water swelled up
On every street
And flooded every
Lake and creek
Cattle began drowning
People began moaning
People began cursing
The clouds that didn’t stop pouring
Soon the dam was full
And burst open its walls
And the entire place was flooded
With no one to hear its calls

Nightmares

As walls cave in
And fear grips in
You can’t run
You can’t hide
And shadows are chasin
From every side!
You turn left
You turn right
You have no one
Alone you fight!
No matter where you go
Invisible eyes follow
Cold foggy hands
Grapple your throat
Leaving you hollow!
You are surrounded
by darkness
and cold winter fog
at the back of your head
you hear a howling dog!
You smell terror everywhere
You want to scream out loud
You end up gasping for air!
Suddenly someone pushes you
From a swing
And before you hit the ground
You hear your alarm ring!!!

Think about this !!

When was the last time
you ever slept like a baby?
When was the last time
you even slept maybe?
Why is this world
In this mad rat race?
Everybody's lost in
This money-making phase!
Nobody has the time
To smile at one another
Nobody has the time
to smell a wayside flower!
People want to earn
for food, clothes and shelter.
This makes them run
Constantly helter skelter!
People want to earn
for more comfort and luxury,
But do they have the time
to enjoy these in their hurry?
All that people want
is more and more money
The world is losing all
its peace and harmony!
Its time to stop and think
Its time we opened our eyes
Money is not everything,
Its time we realize(d)!

Random thought -1

I have always found animals very intriguing. I am in total awe everytime I discover something new about some animal.
Last evening I was watching this program on black mambas on nat geo (or was it animal planet? I can't seem to remember)
how ever, i couldn't help but wonder how much more animals are better than humans. We humans need spoon feeding even after we are old enough to rule the world. animals on the other hand, they seem to be born with immense knowledge and intelligence.
Many animals don't hang around their babies. The mamba for instance, it lays its eggs and then leaves the little snakes to fend for themselves. so do the turtles/tortoises. Who teaches these new borns to hunt for food, about its environment, how to make a house (if the animal does live in a house) - birds - who teaches a bird to build its nest? the parents are wid the little ones only till they learn to fly (correct me if i am wrong here).
but on the other hand, i am old enough to have kids of my own, but i completely rely on my mother for every little thing. most of us do rely on someone else to guide us. we are scared if we might falter or end up making fools of ourselves - well sooner or later we do that , no denying that fact.
Animals rely heavily on their intuition. That is an amazing thing to do. I think we must learn the way of lives from the animals around us.
One important lesson we ought to learn is loyalty and unconditional love
once u gain the trust of even a lion, the lion does not care if you are dark, or short or fair or rich or poor. it loves you with all its heart. but are we unbiased that ways? nope not a teensy bit. people who say u are, step back and give it another thought. we never love without any expectations - no we dont even love our own kids without expectations. think about it and feel free to let your thoughts flow out too :)

I'll never find another you

There’s a better world somewhere,
Its called the ‘promised land’
And I’ll be there someday,
If you’ll hold my hand!
I’ll need you there beside me,
No matter what I do,
Because I know I’ll never
Find another you!

There’s always a ‘special someone’,
For each of us they say,
And you’ll be my ‘special someone’,
Forever and on any day!
I could search the whole world over,
Until my life is through,
Yet I know I’ll never
Find another you!

Life’s a long long journey,
So do stay by my side,
When I walk through hurdles,
I need you as my guide!
If I’m given a fortune,
My treasure would be small!
I could lose it all tomorrow,
And never mind at all!
But should I lose your love dear,
I don’t know what I’ll do
Because I know I’ll never,
Find another you!

forget me not

The sun shone down after the rain
The world was bright and happy again,
Flower beds shook their downy heads
And seedlings sprouted from their cozy little beds.
In a wild bush not far away
Bloomed a tiny little flower
Blue as the ight skies of May
He stretched a bit and looked around
But was disappointed as there was none to be found
Suddenly a sweet smell swept his nose
He turned around to meet a lovely rose
He proposed and she promised
That they never would part
Happiness thumped their tiny little hearts
But soon a little gypsy came hopping by
Seeing the rose she gave a delighted cry
She plucked it gently and tucked it in her hair
Fate had parted the lovely pair
The blue flower could do nothing but whisper
""Alas we've parted, and there's no one I've got.
I love you so much... Forget me not!!""

Happy Birthday to my love

One day in heaven's factory
God made a special new baby
He gave him big expressive eyes
And a smile that was twice as nice
He gave him a clever brain to think
And a nose that was cute and pink
He gave him hands and legs beautifully crafted
But it was the heart that He best drafted
He made it big and warm and of pure gold
He made it courageous and strong and bold
He made it a huge treasure trove
And filled it with loads and loads of love
He made sure nothing was amiss
And sent him down with a kiss
So much did God love the baby that
Every year on this day
He comes down to wish him
HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

Rainy Day

lonely walk, rainy day
thoughts of you
on my way
wish you were here
by my side
no umbrella nor raincoat
no place to hide
high in spirits soaked to our skins
"splash" in a puddle
our feet would rinse

wet clothes wet hair
and not a care
hot tea to drink
warmth of your cuddle
into it i sink
distant rumble, lightning streak
silent whispers
sweet nothings to speak

late hour, no power
and no moon light
huddled together
in candle light
stroke my hair, kiss my ear
touch my cheek n catch a tear

hold me tight, rock me slow
like a cradle to and fro
into dreams, falling deep
sit by me and watch me sleep!!!

Mysterious Black Cat

Mysterious black cat with topaz eyes
sitting beneath the starry skies
for a second I almost didn't see you there
with your black tail swishing in the air
you seem so cute in broad daylight
but you send shivers down my spine
on a moonless night
mysterious cat, what are you thinking?
are you just a cat or are you
some...... "thing" ?
mysterious cat, what are you staring at?
oh mysterious cat,
STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!!
